ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is the inability to get and keep an erection firm enough for sex, gradual loss of ability to perform sexually, loss of libido or sexual desire, inability to achieve erection, and/or inability to maintain erection.
The occurrence of ED increases with age and currently affects an estimated 30 million men in the United States. At age 40, approximately 40% of men have ED. Men between the ages of 50-59 are three (3) times more likely to experience low libido and erection problems than men between the ages of 18 to 29. Having erection trouble from time to time isn’t necessarily a cause for concern but can be a sign of an underlying health condition that needs treatment.

What is the main cause of ED?
Most often ED occurs when blood flow in the penis is limited, or nerves are harmed. Other causes may be stress or emotional problems, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, multiple sclerosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, low testosterone, Peyronie’s Disease, tobacco use, alcoholism or substance abuse, certain medications, or injury from treatment to the prostate, such as radiation therapy or surgery. Shockwave Therapy has been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of men with ED by improving blood flow. Schedule a free consultation today!
